Brothers,
Welcome to May—a month where dreams, hope, and celebration intertwine! As the days grow longer and the world around us begins to bloom, we are reminded of the beauty that lives not only in the music we share but in the bonds we nurture and the stories we uplift. This month, during AANHPI Heritage Month, we proudly honor our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Brothers, musicians, educators, and community members, celebrating the incredible impact their voices and journeys have had on our fraternity and the greater world around us.
One of my favorite authors, Emily Brontë, once wrote that May is “the month of expectation, the month of wishes, the month of hope.” So I ask you—what are your wishes and hopes for this month? What dreams are waiting to be carried forward by your hands, your heart, your voice? Brothers, never forget that we are allowed—no, we are called—to dream boldly and to love even more fiercely. In a world that often feels divided, let us be a beacon of light, compassion, and resilience. Even as school comes to an end, let’s continue to spread our love for music, community, and one another as we march towards the end of the biennium.
On that overly emotional note, I’m excited to share this month’s updates and opportunities with you below. With less than eighty days left in this biennium, let’s fill the remaining time we have together with meaning and move forward together, hearts open and spirits high!
MAY UPDATES
Update #1: End-of-Year Chapter Reports and Forms
Amidst the finals, concerts, and end-of-year celebrations, it’s extremely important that each chapter takes the time to complete the required end-of-year reports. These forms are not just paperwork—they are crucial for ensuring the continued health and success of your chapter. Please make time to review and complete the following:
- Spring Activity Report: This required report provides a comprehensive look at your chapter’s activities from the spring semester. It may require input from several officers and your Sponsor, so we highly recommend starting early. Reports are due by June 1, 2025.
- Officer & Chapter Update Form: If your elections are complete, don’t forget to update your officers in OPUS! This ensures new officers have the proper access and communications. This form is required and should be submitted as soon as possible after elections.
- Graduating Senior Report: Help us keep your alumni records accurate! Please submit this report before Brothers graduate to ensure a smooth transition to Alumni Status and to avoid incorrect billing for next year. Aim to submit within 30 days of graduation, but earlier is better.
For questions or assistance with any of these forms, please contact kkytbs@kkytbs.org.
Also, if you missed our Chapter Officer Transition Workshop Weekend, please use the links below to access the recordings. For additional assistance with chapter officer transitions or any other chapter operations-related questions, please reach out to the National Committee on Chapter Operations at chapteroperations@kkpsi.org.

UUpdate #3: National Council and Board of Trustees Elections
The 2025 National Officer Elections are one of the most important moments of our biennium. This process isn’t just about selecting leaders for the next two years—it sets the tone for the future of Kappa Kappa Psi. How we engage now will shape the success and integrity of future elections. We encourage every chapter to:
- Carefully review all candidate information.
- Discuss the leadership qualities you want to see.
- Stay engaged and make informed decisions.
We’re excited to launch the Official Kappa Kappa Psi Elections Site, featuring 16 candidates for National Council and Board of Trustees seats. For a deeper look at their platforms, check out the 2025 National Convention Elections Newsletter.
Additional Opportunities:
- The National Committee on Nominations will meet in person from May 23 to 25 for the slating process. The official slate will be announced by June 15, or at least thirty days before the start of National Convention, as required by the National Constitution.
- Join our VPSA Chat on May 20 with Arupa Gopal-Campbell and BoT Vice Chair Evan Thompson to learn more about the nominations and elections process.
For questions, please contact nominations@kkpsi.org. Your engagement matters!
Update #4: Crown Pearl Goals Update
Brothers, we are approaching the end of the first year of the Crown Pearl Goals initiative, and we are grateful for all of you joining us for this program. At National Convention, we will unveil the 2025-2026 Crown Pearl Goals, but there is still time to earn some of your Crown Pearl Goals for this year to be recognized as a Crown Pearl Chapter at National Convention!
Recently, our CFRs have made a public version of the tracker, which can be found here to see your Chapter’s progress. Opportunities for getting your Crown Pearl Goals include submitting your chapter reports and forms (Spring Activity Report, Initiate (or Honorary) Registration Form, Graduating Senior Report, Officer & Chapter Update Form, etc.) on time! If you also think we missed a highlight from the Month of Service, Month of Musicianship, or more, please fill out this supplemental form!
A hearty congratulations to the following chapters who have already completed 10 Crown Pearl Goals to be named as a Crown Pearl Chapter:
- Nu Xi – University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
- Theta Beta – Boston University
- Iota Xi – Norfolk State University
- Nu Gamma – Robert Morris University
- Nu Chi – Wilkes University
- Pi – Auburn University
- Delta Iota – Florida A&M University
- Zeta Chi – University of South Carolina
- Eta Iota – Bethune-Cookman University
- Kappa Tau – University of South Florida
- Mu Eta – University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
It is still possible for 60+ chapters to join their ranks with the remaining goals. We look forward to celebrating all of you at National Convention!
Update #5: Member Climate Survey
Your voice matters—and we want to hear it!
Our 2025 Active Member Climate Survey is now open and is intended for our Active, Conditional, and Associate members. Every two years, this survey provides Kappa Kappa Psi’s national leadership with insight into the Fraternity’s communications, programs, and operations, helping us better understand the diverse experiences of our Brothers, therefore informing how the Fraternity can evolve and grow to meet its members’ needs.
When Brothers complete the survey, they earn a chance to WIN A FREE NATCON REGISTRATION, a FREE CROWN PEARL BADGE, or FREE ACTIVE DUES for the coming academic year!
If you are an Alumni, Life, or Honorary member, please take the 2025 Alumni Member Climate Survey! This survey allows the Kappa Kappa Psi Alumni Association the benefit of your insights.
Both surveys will be open through June 15th. We invite each Brother to please take 10 minutes to complete their respective survey. Your voice helps us improve and serve all Brothers more effectively.
Update #6: Welcome Four New Chapters!
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to welcome three new Chapters back to the Fraternity, while installing one new Chapter. Please join us in welcoming (and welcoming back) the following Chapters:
- The Beta Epsilon Chapter at the University of South Dakota, installed by Vice President of Membership and Expansion Dr. Nic Rorrer
- The Eta Chi Chapter at Bowie State University, installed by Northeast District Governor Rassii Elliot
- The Lambda Pi Chapter at the University of Texas at Tyler, installed by Immediate Past President Jessica Lee
- The Xi Kappa Chapter at the University of West Alabama, installed by Vice President for Student Affairs Arupa Gopal-Campbell
We are tremendously grateful to both the members of the Friend and Advocate initiative who helped guide these groups for the past semester, as well as the local Chapters who graciously provided the ritual supplies for the Chapters. We are excited to announce that we have welcomed 11 new Chapters into the Fraternity this biennium! We look forward to the work that they will do to advance our mission.
As we journey through the rest of this biennium, I know that the world beyond our fraternity walls can sometimes seem stark, heavy, and uncertain. But I invite you, just for a moment, to pause. To take a deep breath. To reflect on what you are grateful for, and to find joy in even the smallest moments. Darkness may try to find its way into our lives, but remember: we are the ones who carry the light within us.
As leaders, our communities look to us for hope, for vision, for the reassurance that tomorrow can be brighter than today. And Brothers, you have that power. A simple smile, a word of kindness, a hand reaching out—it doesn’t take much to create a positive shift in someone’s world. Take each day this month to reflect on your journey and to make one small act of kindness for someone else’s journey, because we are in this together. We are not alone. We are marching shoulder to shoulder, heart to heart, lifting one another as we move forward. I am proud—truly proud—to walk alongside each of you as we continue our path on #TheKKPsiJourney.
Let’s make this month a time of love, hope, and celebration as we move ever closer to our National Month of Celebration and our 2025 National Convention.
With all my heart and hope,
