1. United in Music to Race for the Cure
by Carolyn Steckel,
Tau Beta Sigma National Chapter Field Representative
By no means is the fight against breast cancer an easy
one. As our National Administrator, Dixie Mosier-Greene, is faced with
this challenge, we realize how influential support from others is during this
time.
The national councils of Kappa Kappa
Psi and Tau Beta Sigma have
united in their support for Dixie and urge chapters
across the nation to do the same.
Over the course of each year, most every major city is host
to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Race
for the Cure. This race is the largest series of 5K runs/fitness walks
around the world. Money raised goes towards funding research and increasing
awareness of breast cancer.
The national councils are challenging each chapter to
become involved in their local race for the cure in support of Dixie.
This can either be done through volunteering individual member’s time on race
day, actually entering the race (it’s okay, you can
walk!) or making a donation. Information on race dates can be found at www.raceforthecure.com
A T-shirt in support of Dixie will
also be available through the National Headquarters. A portion of each
sale will be donated towards breast cancer research. They would be an
excellent choice for the chapter to wear on race day! Watch for order
information soon!!!
More information will be available soon! Watch new
notes and the listserve for more announcements on
this project!

ed. note: Attached to this
article is a PowerPoint Presentation created by Carolyn that you should
see. It would be a great way to let your entire chapter know of this
special, important project!
ATTN:
District Governors/Counselors/Officers/Chapter Presidents...
Please ensure widest possible delivery to all chapters, colonies &
members in your respective districts!
The
idea of this electronic newsletter is to be able to quickly and efficiently
send out information to every individual member. Therefore, it is up to
the District Leaders to designate someone to be responsible for forwarding
on to the chapters or Chapter Presidents in their district. Once the
Chapter Presidents have the newsletter, please ensure every member of your
chapter receives it! Unfortunately, I regularly talk to chapters members
who have do not received NewsNotes
On-Line. Please help us to communicate to the individual member!
All NewsNotes On-Line issues are available on-line at http://www.kkytbs.org/newsnotes.html.
Many
thanks,
