2.   Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma Manuals Available On-Line

After considerable revision and reorganization the principal operating manuals for both KKPsi & TBS are available for download from the national website.  The KKPsi Guide to Membership can be downloaded from http://www.kkytbs.org/forms/KKPsiGuidetoMembership.pdf.  The TBS Chapter Operations Handbook can be found at http://www.kkytbs.org/forms/TBSChOpsHandbook.pdf, and the TBS Guide to Membership Education is at http://www.kkytbs.org/forms/TBSGME.pdf.   Most materials in the previous KKPsi Chapter Operations Handbook have been incorporated into the Guide to Membership.  Several key sections are available direct at:  http://www.kkytbs.org/kky/kchapops.html.  All of these important resources will also be included on the Membership Resources CD-ROM.  The TBS Membership Resources CD-ROM has been pressed and will be shipped to Chapters and Sponsors in a mailer this month.  The KKPsi Membership Resources CD-ROM is nearly complete and should go to the production company very soon, so please watch for an announcement about your copies in the very near future!

3.  KKPsi & TBS Graduation Cords Now Available!!

Attached is a photo of the new Graduation Cord approved by the National Councils at the January Winter Meeting.  You may order yours from Collegiate Regalia on the National Website at  http://www.kkytbs.org/merchandise.htm.  Initial response has been very positive!!

4.  National Alumni Association Board Contributes Financially to KKPsi & TBS

As part of a four-year replacement plan to upgrade computer resources at the National Headquarters, the National Councils approved purchase of a new server.  When the NAA Board learned of this new purchase, they approved a $4,000 contribution to assist in the cost of server, software, and installation!  Bravo to the NAA for the clear demonstration of their commitment to the Active Members of KKPsi & TBS!

5.  KKPsi & TBS Membership Trends Head Upwards!

Have you read the Membership & Chapter Mid-Year Reports that are posted on-line?  Those reports have direct bearings on the amount of funds provided to each District, as we use the membership numbers for each organization to determine the District Allocations, based upon on-time Chapter Personnel Reports and Dues & Fees.  At this time of the Fiscal Year, the Mid-Year Report is the most accurate, up-to-date information we have of the state of total members for both KKPsi & TBS, and it is our first glimpse at possible growth or losses of numbers of members for both organizations.  After a downturn in the past two years, we turned the corner this year and every trend we monitor in this report is upward!

HIGHLIGHTS are based on the December 31, 2003 report as compared to the December 31, 2002 Report --

Membership Dues for KKPsi:  6.5% higher this year.

Fall Initiates for KKPsi 37% higher!

Honoraries up 48%!

Number of Chapters increased from 169 to 171

Total Members as of Dec 31, 2003:  3,219 -- up 9.8%!

Membership Dues for TBS:  1.5% higher.

Fall Initiates up 17%!

Number of Chapters increased from 131 to 132

Total Members as of Dec 31, 2003:  2,321 -- 3.6% growth!

Overall, that's terrific news for both KKPsi & TBS and reflects the excitement we've heard and felt from chapters all over the country this fall!  We hope all of you feel challenged to make the Spring Membership even more positive as we aspire to continue to grow Kappa Kappa Psi & Tau Beta Sigma!

For those of you who may have not taken a look at those Mid-Year Reports, they may be found on the National Website and downloaded at http://www.kkytbs.org/forms/KKYMid-YearReport.htm  & http://www.kkytbs.org/forms/TBSMid-YearReport.htm

ATTN: District Governors/Counselors/Officers/Chapter Presidents...

Please ensure widest possible delivery to all chapters, colonies & members in your respective districts!

The idea of this electronic newsletter is to be able to quickly and efficiently send out information to every individual member.  Therefore, it is up to the District Leaders to designate someone to be responsible for forwarding on to the chapters or Chapter Presidents in their district.  Once the Chapter Presidents have the newsletter, please ensure every member of your chapter receives it!  Unfortunately, I regularly talk to chapters members who have do not received NewsNotes On-Line.  Please help us to communicate to the individual member!

All NewsNotes On-Line issues are available on-line at http://www.kkytbs.org/newsnotes.html
