1. National Intercollegiate Band Selected!

Over 130 students applied to be a part of the National Intercollegiate Band this summer at the 2003 National Convention in Norfolk, Virginia. Seventy-one performers were selected, and those chosen are listed on the National Website (http://www.kkytbs.org/nib.html). All letters to each individual were sent out last week, so if you have not received your letter, please contact Dixie Mosier-Greene, National Headquarters Administrator, at hqdixie@kkytbs.org. Those selected as participants need to return their confirmation cards to the Headquarters as soon as possible!!!

2. Kappa Kappa Psi Announces Installation of the Lambda Beta Chapter
by Ken Corbett, Past National President and member of the Board of Trustees

It gives me great pleasure to announce the installation of the Lambda Beta Chapter at Charleston Southern University outside Charleston, South Carolina. They were installed Sunday, April 27, 2003 as chapter # 266 in the 84th year of Kappa Kappa Psi.

The Kappa Beta Chapter from Clemson University was the installing chapter and Ken Corbett, Past National President, was the installing officer. In attendance were Jerome Jackson, Kappa Beta Sponsor and Past National Officer, District President Sam Rowley, District VP Jarrell Thomas, District Secretary/Treasurer Rob Izzo and other brothers from the SE District.

A special thank you to Kelly Holliday, of Kappa Beta (the 2003 SED Vice President) for all her work with the colony and for seeing them thru to installation. Kelly and Kappa Beta have assured me they will be in contact with Lambda Beta as they start down the road as a chapter.

A picture of the new chapter with their sponsor Mr. Sid Haton is attached.

Please send your notes of congratulations to the Lambda Beta Chapter President Roger Simpson at playzdatuba@aol.com

I offer my congratulations to Lambda Beta as they start out today, April 27, 2003 as the newest chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi. May they "Strive for the Highest" in all their endeavors!
