1. KKPsi Delegate/Proxy Update

by Ken Corbett, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for KKPsi

This article provides all brothers with the current KKPsi National Convention delegate and proxy information. For several years, I have assisted the National President by handling this task for the National Convention.

Please find attached to this NewsNotes On-Line issue is an Adobe pdf file with the following information sorted by District and Chapter Name:

Y if a Proxy form is on hand for that chapter
Y if someone from that chapter is registered for the convention
Delegate Name if a form was submitted
Preferred committee assignment if given

Review this information for accuracy and missing info. If you have not submitted a delegate form or need to make a change, e-mail me the information
(kenc@gwm.sc.edu).

If your chapter is not attending convention, submit a Proxy form to the National HQ ASAP.

Thank you,

Ken Corbett
Chairman of the Board

3. NIB Chair Placement Audition Process
by Debbie Baker, Vice Chair Board of Trustees for TBS and NIB Coordinator & Al Sergel, Vice President for Professional Relations for KKPsi and NIB Coordinator

There have been many questions regarding the NIB chair placement auditions so let us try to help answer as many as possible.

All members of the NIB should receive chair placement audition materials by July 6th. This mailing will be sent to your summer mailing address that you completed on the application. It is very important that the National HQs has your correct summer mailing address. If itas changed from your application, immediately call or email your correct information today! You may call the HQs at 800-543-6505 or email at
kkytbs@kkytbs.org. If you do not receive your mailing, please contact the National HQs immediately!

The mailing will consist of your chair placement audition material. This material will be taken from the selected music list for the concert. All you will need to prepare is the audition material we send you and the chromatic scale (full range). Any solo sections in the music will be included in the audition material and soloists will be selected from chair placement auditions.

We are looking forward to seeing each of you in Corpus Christi! If you have any others questions, please feel free to contact either of usr the national headquarters.

Sincerely,

Debbie Baker

4. Omni Hotel is still sold out for the 2001 KKPsi & TBS National Convention!
by Lt Col Alan Bonner, National Executive Director

As you recall from last month we reported that we had exceeded our room block by a substantial number. The hotel has been very cooperative by increasing the number of rooms we originally contracted. Although they cannot extend our room block any greater, the Omni representatives are willing to help us even further!
At that time, we asked that if you had not reserved your room at the Omni Hotel, to call direct and ask to be placed on a waiting list. We also asked that any who had booked more rooms than they need to please call the hotel and cancel any rooms you can to make it possible for others to attend and stay at the convention hotel. As of July 2nd, there have been only 2 room cancellations, while there are 11 currently on the waiting list.

I am requesting that you take an honest look at your hotel requirements, and if you don't need the number of rooms you have reserved to do the following:

A. If your chapter has blocked more rooms than you need, please, immediately call the hotel to cancel what you do not need. Call direct to 361-886-3576 (Diana McWilliams) or 361-886-3578 (Teresa Ramirez), and be sure to identify yourself as an attendee of the KKPsi & TBS National Convention. Diana & Teresa will hold any rooms you cancel for others who still need them!

B. If you call the hotel reservations and are informed that the hotel is sold out, call Ms. McWilliams or Ramirez directly and request that they put you on a standby list for any cancellations.

C. If you are one of the current 11 on the waiting list, and your needs have changed, please give one of these ladies a call and ask to be removed from the waiting list. If they do get a cancellation, they will go down their waiting list and try to contact each person to ensure they are taken care of fairly.

If you really don't need all of the rooms your chapter reserved, I appeal to you to call those phone numbers listed above immediately and release the rooms so that others might attend! I know they will appreciate you for doing so!

ATTN: District Governors/Counselors/Officers/Chapter Presidents...Please ensure widest possible delivery to all chapters & members in your respective districts! All NewsNotes On-Line issues are available on-line at http://www.kkytbs.org/newsnotes.html.

Many thanks,
